Vance started his music career in 1976 in retail selling Hammond organs at Andrews Music in Greensboro, NC. It was during that time he met and eventually married his wonderful wife of over 35 years, June. They were blessed with 2 wonderful children, Ryan & Kelly. In 1978 he started at a local wholesale music distributor, Southland Musical Mdse Corp., working as an inside salesman. He advanced to an outside regional manager position in 1982. Success in that small initial territory in North Carolina led to handling 5 states in the mid-Atlantic. In 1989 Vance joined Midco Corp. as a regional manager and helped pioneer Mapex Drums and Vestax electronics. In 1993 he was hired at St. Louis Music to sell Alvarez, Crate, Ampeg as well as other iconic SLM brands. In 2006 he started an independent rep firm, R.K. Marketing & Sales, representing many brands including Hammond, Marshall, Schecter, BC Rich, Premier & Goldtone. In 2015 he became the Regional Business Manager for Marshall USA, managing 8 states. Always a man of integrity, he treats dealers as partners, helping with their needs.
Vance has a passion for bass fishing and also enjoys kayaking and biking.
